I think so. I didn't know him very well, but I read a lot about him when I was growing up, so I know his history.

Because of who he was. He just started talking to me one day while I practiced calligraphy and I had no idea until he finally told me his name.

Well, you couldn't have really known, right? Most history books don't really carry accurate depictions of the people they're speaking of.

I didn't think it was possible back then. Meeting someone who died hundreds of years before you were even born, I mean.

I probably wouldn't have believed it, either. I have something similar here with Huang Zhong and Ma Chao, but they're not the same people as the ones in the books and historical records.

Mm ... I don't know those names but they don't really seem like they're from history.

Their story's . . . close, in that they have similar names and followed similar paths, but they're not the same people. The historical Huang Zhong and Ma Chao were military generals during the late Eastern Han dynasty and into the Three Kingdoms period.

Yes, there were still chickens back then. That was two thousand years ago, for all intents and purposes.

They almost are, in their dimension. But as I said, the ones here are not the same ones from history. They merely share similar--and not necessarily identical--names and circumstances.
